Communication Officers George Meyer and Glenn Wall are receiving this commendation for the professional, efficient and excellence in the performance and managing of their duties during a suspicious activity call. In the early morning hours on January 15, Dispatcher Wall received a 9-1-1 call for male subjects looking into and attempting entry to vehicles in a New Providence neighborhood.
While Dispatcher Wall had entered the call for dispatch, Dispatcher Meyer worked to provide information to surrounding towns providing suspect and vehicle information, direction of travel, etc. Units responded to the area, located the vehicles and stopped them. After a brief foot pursuit four suspects were apprehended without incident or injury to any officers or residents. Approx. two hours after the incident as Dispatcher Wall was off-duty and heading home he noticed a subject walking that fit the description of a 5th subject in the earlier incident. Dispatcher Wall contacted the dispatch center who immediately dispatched New Providence police units to the area and were able to apprehend the final subject in the earlier event without incident.
