Through the conception of Doug Kennedy, President and Chief Executive Officer, and Peapack-Gladstone Bank Trust and Investments, the Bank recently formed a mutually beneficial relationship with Montclair State University (MSU) faculty and students.   Through the 2013 fall semester, MSU’s Investment Management Class faculty and students worked on a presentation regarding the practical application of investment principles in a real world environment.  This semester-long project was incorporated as part of their curriculum, and students were graded on the thoroughness of their analysis and quality of decision making with their assigned portfolios.

Under the supervision of Dr. Seddik Meziani, Professor of Finance, MSU Department of Economics and Finance, on December 20, 2013, MSU visited Peapack-Gladstone Bank’s Headquarters in Bedminster.  Final portfolio management project analysis results were presented by three student teams to the Bank’s wealth management team comprised of John Creamer, Glen Corbitt and Michael Herrmann.  All teams were judged based on the criteria of their analysis and quality of decision making.  The Bank awarded a grand prize of $1,000 to the winning portfolio team - Ryan Pierce of Red Bank, NJ and Anthony Palmieri of Nutley, NJ.

This research project was a valuable learning opportunity coordinated through Montclair State University and Peapack-Gladstone Bank to provide guidance in the practical application of investments in the real world.  Through the interaction and communication between students, faculty and Peapack-Gladstone Bank personnel, each of the six students also received 3 independent study credits in their fall semester in addition to valuable hands-on experience in the corporate environment.  The Bank thanks Montclair State University for the opportunity to interact with these academically exceptional students and congratulates the students who participated for their achievements.

Rate hikes can dampen bond performance, but keep perspective on how rising rates impact ...

Cluelessly Clueless

I teenaged my way through high school under the assumption that my parents had no idea what I was doing.  I like to think I was pretty good at withholding information and presenting situations in ways that were other than they really were.

Still, sometimes they found things out.  Like the time my friends plopped me on our front door step at one o'clock in the morning ...
