Donna Setaro, whose son -- New Jersey State Trooper Marc K. Castellano -- tragically lost his life while on duty June 6, 2010, when he was struck by a motor vehicle while performing his duties, met with Summit High School students to make them aware of the New Jersey Move Over Law, Title 39:4-92.2.
This law, in existence for 8 years, requires drivers to move over a lane when approaching stationary emergency and safety vehicles or tow trucks. If it is not possible to move, drivers must slow down and travel below the posted speed limit.
Matthew Tarentino, Summit Police Department Officer; Rachel Blume, President of the Summit Safety Society; Devon Degen, Member of the Summit Safety Society; Erin Fogarty, Student Safety Society Advisor; Mrs. Setaro, and James Siracusa, Health / Physical Education Teacher, gather by a banner that will hang on the fence by the Summit High School student parking lot to remind our students and community members to move over.
