Music and Movies: Summit's Village Green the Site for Outdoor Summer Events

SUMMIT, NJ - The annual tradition of summit outdoor concerts and family friendly films continues as the City of Summit will once again host its "Hot Summer Nights' concert "Screen on the Green" movie series starting July 10 and continuing though Agust 14.

The 2018 'Hot Summer Nights Concert Series" will feature a variety of bands on the Village Green on Tuesday nights during July and August. The lineup includes:

  • Exit Row on July 10
  • Radio Nashville on July 17
  • Total Soul on July 24
  • The Mahoney Brothers on July 31
  • Brian Kirk and the Jirks on August 14.

All concerts will begin at 7 p.m. and will be accompanied by food trucks and free ice cream. The third night of the concert series, Tuesday, July 24, will serve as 'Community Night', welcoming local non-profit organizations to share their mission with the Summit community on the Village Green.

The 2018 "Screen on the Green" Movie Series will also take place at the Village Green, on Thursday nights throughout July and August. The series will feature:

  • "Early Man" on July 19
  • "Ferdinand" on July 26
  • "Monsters, Inc." on August 2
  • "The Greatest Showman" on August 9

Food trucks will be at the Village Green for all movies. Family Dance Parties begin at 7:15 p.m. and movies begin playing at dark.

The Summit Family Aquatic Center will host an additional Screen on the Green Movie Series event, "Happy Feet" on August 27. The SFAC will open to the public at 6 p.m. with the family dance party, and the movie will start at dark. Aquatic Center memberships are not required for this event. The SFAC is located at 100 Ashwood Avenue.

All concert and movie-goers are reminded to bring their own blankets and chairs. Admission to all concerts and movies is free. All events held with the City of Summit are alcohol and tobacco-free events.
