SUMMIT, NJ - Michael Alesandro of Oak Ridge is Summit’s newest police officer, having been sworn in during the September 19 Summit Common Council Meeting by Mayor Nora.Radest.

Alesandro was raised in Kinnelon and majored in criminal justice at the County College of Morris prior to working as a bricklayer apprentice for three years. He then entered the Army and became a member of the 10th Light Infantry Division, stationed at Fort Drum, NY, before deploying to Afghanistan, where he won a number of medals and commendations.

He completed his police training at the Morris County Police Training Academy.
