The Connection welcomes physical therapist Robert D’Egidio from Overlook Medical Center for a new Parkinson’s & Balance class offered Fridays from 11:30-12:30pm.

Robert D’Egidio is a Physical Therapist in the Rehabilitation Department at Overlook Medical Center and specializes in the treatment of movement disorders and balance dysfunction. He graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from UMDNJ- School of Health Related Professions in 2008. D’Egidio has been certified in LSVT – BIG for Parkinson’s Disease and was chosen to be a speaker at the Bachmann Strauss Dystonia and Parkinson Foundation in 2010.
D’Egidio provides vigorous but modified exercises to help manage symptoms in a series of safe and effective cardio and strength exercise classes. The class enhances both muscles and posture. Be prepared for an energetic workout!

In order to attend Parkinsons & Balance, a Physican’s note is required. Participants must be able to climb 3 steps independently, stand on one leg for 30 seconds, walk without assistive device or cane/walking poles for security, be able to stand up from sitting without using arms to help, and feel that basic exercise classes are not satisfying.

This class is FREE for Total Facility Members of The Connection. Non-members can attend with a $20 Drop-In fee. Registration and a Physicians note are required to attend this class.
