The New Providence Alliance maintains a consistent presence in our community each year, striving to keep our citizens aware of current trends in drug and alcohol abuse impacting all of our lives.
Our mission is to achieve a drug free community and improve and enhance the quality of life for all who work and live in the Borough of New Providence. By identifying abuse environments and root causes within the community, the Alliance can assess needs, and implement effective education and prevention programs.
We are a Borough committee comprised of volunteers from within the community that includes parents, members of the police department, Borough Council, Board of Education, and high school students.
Our program budget is funded by a grant from the Governor’s Council of Alcohol and Drug Addiction, the Borough of New Providence and via our fundraising efforts. The Borough matches this grant, however this year our grant was greatly reduced. We are on a mission to raise the $11,000 shortfall so that we are able to continue our programming of D.A.R.E. and L.E.A.D. as well as the student engagement and events throughout the year.
Last week we started a fundraising effort via gofundme but we are just 25% the way to our goal. I want to thank the people who have stepped up and contributed via the gofundme page, but we must be successful and need your help. I’m asking friends and neighbors for their help and generosity so we are able to continue our work within the community.
Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
