New Winter Programs for Special Needs Students

Summit, NJ – Registration is now open for all winter 2016 programs with TryCAN including brand new programs, a Mini Yoga Group and a Mask-making Art Group.

This year’s winter 2016 program list includes several social skills programs, such as Social Skills – Play and Learn, Social Skills – Let’s Pretend, and Social Skills – Teen Friendship Group. Also on the list: Baseball Skills, Study Skills Workshop, and back by popular demand, Dance and Movement Group.

A brand new Mini Yoga Group is being offered for ages 8 – 12 and is specially designed for young yogis to begin developing strength, flexibility, coordination, and focus. Also new this winter is the Mask-making Art Group which will challenge your young artist’s inner creativity.

All TryCAN programs are held at the Summit Community Center and welcome children ages 6 – 17 with special needs or those who may need special accommodation to participate in an array of recreation and educational programming. All are welcome and no non-resident fees apply.

Programs are taught in group settings by experienced coaches or instructors. Students also benefit from their interactions with our trained teen Peer Mentors who will guide and encourage your child through each program.
