New Year, Fresh Start: Summit Library Hosts Job Search Workshop Starting Jan. 10

Beginning Tuesday, January 10 at 7 PM, the Summit Free Public Library will host a weekly series of workshops: “Your Job Search – A Fresh Start”. This series of informal workshops is for you if you currently have a job, or are under-employed or are ‘between positions.’ While its focus is on the professional level job-seeker with a minimum of five years’ work experience, it is open to everyone. Join us for one or all four of these two-hour sessions.  In addition to the topics listed below, each session will provide ample time for discussion, networking, and interview role-play.

Course leader Neil Berger’s more than thirty years’ Human Resources experience includes managing benefits, recruitment, training, compensation, labor relations and communications in a variety of industries. In this time he has seen the HR function morph from a paper and pencil administrative function to a sophisticated, highly automated function.  His experience also includes considerable experience teaching written communications at the college level.

This free program is funded by the Friends of the Summit Free Public Library. Registration is required. To register or for additional information, stop by the Reference Desk or call 908-273-035, ext. 3.

02/01/2018, 7:26 am - FD dispatched to Route 78 East Bound mile marker 47.2 for a reported motor vehicle accident with entrapment and injuries. On arrival both the Springfield and Summit Fire Departments set up for extrication. The vehicle was chocked to stabilize the vehicle. EMS performed patient care. A hose line was stretched for possible fire suppression by the Berkeley Heights FD.
