SUMMIT, NJ - Perhaps If Punxsutawney Phil knew of Reeves-Reed Arboretum's 'Maple Sugaring Fest', he'd never see his shadow again.
After all, maple syrup season is one of the first true signs of spring, a happening that the Arboretum will sweetly celebrate on February 25, from 1 - 4 p.m., when the community is invited to enjoy a winter afternoon outdoors which will include tapping and cooking demonstrations, a scavenger hunt, games, and taste tests.
Cost for the family-friendly interactive festival is free to all Reeves-Reed Arboretum members, with non-members fees set at $5 per person or $20 per family. Those who plan to attend are reminded that 'Maple Sugaring Fest' is an outdoor event and, therefore, are reminded to wear boots and dress for the weather.
The event is underwritten by Investors Savings Bank, with a snow date of March 4.
