SUMMIT, NJ - Thanksgiving marks the joyful march to the heart of the holiday season, with Summit Downtown, inc. unveiling a 'Shop Summit Passport Program' that launches November 25, the same date as the nationwide "Small Business Saturday" initiative.
'Shop Summit Passport Program' Details
Shoppers must collect eight different passport 'stamps' -- with four coming from retail shops -- in oder to be entered to win one of three 'Shop Summit' Grand Prizes valued at more than $1,000 each. For a complete list of passport pick-up and drop-off locations, visit summitdowntown.org. No purchase is necessary, and passports must be turned in by 7 p.m. on December 1. The winning completed passports will be drawn at Regal Bank at 8 p.m. during the 'Celebrate in Summit' event December 1.
"Small Business Saturday"
"Small Business Saturday" offers consumers a meaningful alternative to shopping at the mall -- or on Routes 10 and 22 -- for "Black Friday" and, at the same time, affords residents and community neighbors the opportunity to support local businesses. Parking downtown will be free all Thanksgiving weekend. Many downtown businesses will also feature special promotions and sales for the day.
In addition, Summit Downtown, Inc. has purchased new, lighted holiday wreaths for the downtown area, which were recently installed by the Summit Department of Public Works staff.
