SUMMIT, NJ - Professor Stephen Berk, who holds the Henry and Sally Schaffer Chair in Holocaust and Jewish Studies at Union College in Schenectady, NY. and is the current director of the Russian and Eastern European Studies Program, will lecture at Congregation Ohr Shalom -Summit JCC (COS-SJCC) April 10 on the topic of  “Crisis in the Middle East.”
 
Berk, an outstanding teacher and lecturer has written several books and numerous articles on topics ranging from European Jewry and pogroms to his most current work in progress: American Jewry and the Struggle for Civil Rights.  

The lecture, which begins at 7 p.m., is open to the public. Admission is $18, with RSVPs sent to office@summitjcc.org. If paying by check, a check -- made payable to the Summit JCC -- can be sent to 67 Kent Place Blvd. Summit NJ 07901. Payment will also be accepted at the door.
