Summer day camps at The Connection have been a tradition in the community for over 70 years. This year campers will enjoy endless summer fun with activities including performing arts, gymnastics, sports, swimming, yoga, STEM, art, travel and more! Register before April 1st to take advantage of Early Bird Pricing.

The Connection is excited to announce their Summer Camps have received ACA (American Camp Association) Accreditation. By selecting an ACA Accredited camp, parents ensure their camp meets industry-accepted and government-recognized standards for health, safety and camp quality…and of course fun! The Connection is honored to be a part of this wonderful program.

The traditional “SummerFun” camp (9:00-1:00pm for ages 4+) offers daily activities such as swim lessons, yoga, sports, gymnastics, arts and crafts, dance and plenty of outdoor fun. Campers are grouped by age and rotate through the 30,000 sq ft building, outdoor recreation and playground facilities, plus a state of the art gymnastics gym for a well-rounded summer camp experience.

Each week of SummerFun features an exciting new theme.  Make your own Mickey ears and watch a “dive in” movie during Disney week. Enjoy carnival games, face painting and a water slide during carnival week, or march in a patriotic parade and indulge in a treat from the ice cream truck during “Party in the USA” week!

New for 2017, The Connection is offering a half or full day camp option for 3 year olds. The “Guppies” have a room of their own with activities such as art, swim lessons, gym and STEAM specially designed for their age. They will be able to try new things, develop cause and effect skills and stimulate their curious minds, led by an experienced State Certified Early Childhood Teacher.

The Connection’s Theater Camps (12:30-4:30pm for ages 4+) consists of two parts: “Backstage Pass” will explore behind the scenes elements by designing and creating sets, costumes, props and staging. “Stars on Stage” will be for campers who love to sing, dance and perform in one of four summer performances. Shows for Summer 2017 include: Beauty and the Beast, Shrek, Aladdin and School of Rock.

The Connection’s Gym Camps (12:30-4:30pm) consist of 3 camps: The “Jr. Girls Gym Camp” (girls ages 4+) is perfect for beginner to advanced gymnasts, combining instruction on balance beam, uneven bars, vaulting, floor exercise and tumble track. This camp also includes daily free swim, yoga and a dance rotation. The “Jr. Warrior Camp” (coed ages 4-7) is action packed from start to finish: Campers will use specifically designed ninja challenge course equipment, along with gym equipment to build their strength, agility, and coordination.  The “Elite+ Gym Camp” (girls ages 8+) is for older girls with prior gymnastics experience. Campers will continue to work on their skills on all apparatus.

In addition to their theater and gym camps, The Connection is now offering specialty afternoon camps including: Nature, STEAM, Art, Fashion, Sports and Cooking. There are now 19 different camps to choose from to ensure each camper is spending their summer doing something they love.

Travel Camp now offers age appropriate trips for 3 groups: The “Junior Travel Camp” (9-4:30pm for ages 8+) will go on exciting trips including: iFly, Bubble Ball at the SuperDome, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory on Broadway, The Ride in NYC, and Mountain Creek. The “Mini Travel Camp” (1-4:30pm for ages 5-7) will go to: Hudson Play, Chocolate Works, Rizzo’s Wildlife World, Turtle Back Zoo and Liberty Science Center. The “Travel Camp” kids (9-4:30pm for ages 12+) will: go bowling and play laser tag, spend a day at Six Flags and feed the giraffes, go to Sky Zone and the beach, take a tour or NBC and stop at Dylan’s Candy Bar, and take a trip to Camelback Waterpark.
