SUMMIT, NJ - Registration is now open for the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey’s award-winning Summer Art Camp, which begins July 10 and runs through August 31. The Camp is open to children and teens ages five and up, and staffed by professional art educators and student counselors.

Those that register prior to March 31 will receive a $25 'Early Bird Discount'.

Camp is offered on a week-by-week basis with varying themes allowing participants to sign up for several weeks. Children will explore a new theme each week through different media and creative practices that enhance knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts.

Projects will include hands-on activities such as drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, and three-dimensional work. Each camper will have the opportunity to create up to 10 original projects each week, led by experts in the creative field. At the end of each week campers will put together an art show in their homeroom studios for family and friends to see.

Campers will benefit from a structured program founded on strong educational principles, designed to help children in many other ways beyond their camp experience.

Early drop off is available from 8:30 - 10 a.m. for an additional fee. Register is available by visiting artcenternj.org, by calling 908-273-9121, or in-person at the Art Center, located at 68 Elm Street.
