SUMMIT, NJ - Junior Jafeth Reyes had a Hat Trick, and Derek Lobo added a brace, as the Summit High School Boys Varsity Soccer Team opened NJSIAA Tournament play with a 7-nil shellacking of Carteret at Tatlock Park.

Peter Guadagno assisted on Reyes' and Summit's opening goal, and Lobo got the second when Reyes turned provider.

It was 3-0 before halftime when Darryl Martin found the back of the net, with Lobo earning the assist.

The final 40 minutes saw Lobo get his second, and then Reyes score back to back goals for the Hat Trick, followed by a Thomas Gilbert tally unassisted.

The comfortable win allowed Head Coach Ashley Sularz to go to his substitutes bench early. The Hilltoppers, seeded third, advance to play sixth-seeded Middletown North, a 2-1 winner over Chatham.

The match will take place at Tatlock Park November 6, with kick-off time yet to be determined.
