PLAINFIELD, NJ - Junior guard Christina Richson's five buckets from behind the arc were nearly enough to defeat Plainfield on their own -- and she had help.

After a streak of five consecutive losses, the Summit High School Girls Varsity Basketball Team put together four quarters of quality hoops, and thoroughly dominated Plainfield, 56-18, to raise their record to 3-7 on the season.

Team captain Richson had 24 points and seven rebounds, Grace Keegan added 12, and Micaela Nardino chipped in eight points and five rebounds. Eliza Rustum continued her strong work on the boards, grabbing nine rebounds.

The Maroon & White held the Cardinals to just nine points total over the final three quarters, including a minuscule two points in the final frame. Summit led 17-9 after eight minutes and 31-12 at the half.

Captain Anna DiSibio had seven rebounds to go with her three points and, coming off the bench, Bella Cusamano contributed seven more boards and four points.

Summit next takes on New Providence January 14 at 12 p.m. as part of the annual 'Hoops For Hope' event at the Main Gym.
