SUMMIT, NJ - Registration remains open for the popular Overlook 5K, presented by The Summit Running Company. A 'gateway to summer' event that attracts runners of all ages, the 2016 edition will take place June 22 starting at 7 p.m. adjacent to the Village Green.
Runners can register online at racemine.com, with early packet pick-up onsite beginning at 5:30 p.m race day. The event benefits the Summit Police Athletic League (PAL) and the Atlantic Neuroscience Institute Brain Aneurysm Fund.
Music, games and entertainment will be part of the event experience on the Village Green, beginning at 5;30 p.m. and continuing through the 9 p.m. race awards ceremony.
The Summit PAL is a non-profit charitable organization run by a volunteer board that is comprised of Summit residents and dedicated Summit Police Department officers. The Summit PAL underwrites or runs numerous programs throughout the year for the benefit of the youth of Summit, including the nationally recognized D.A.R.E. program. The goal of the Summit PAL is to promote activities that foster lifelong health, community spirit, and a feeling of goodwill and awareness between the children and police officers.

The registration fee is $25 if completed by June 14, $30 thereafter -- including race day -- and includes the following:
- USATF Certified / Sanctioned course
- Computerized chip timing
- Water stations on course, and at finish
- Performance T-Shirt to all pre-registered runners
- Awards for top three finishers in multiple age-group categories
