SUMMIT, NJ - 'Giving Tuesday' -- aka #GivingTuesday -- was created in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y and the United Nations Foundation, and is held each year on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, just after 'Black Friday' and 'Cyber Monday', with the goal of encouraging charitable giving at the beginning of the holiday season.
Occurring this year on December 3, the 2019 edition of 'Giving Tuesday' is now less than 24 hours away, and SAGE Eldercare is asking their community of supporters to help them provide its 'Meals on Wheels' clients with a healthy, fresh salad through a unique 'Giving Salad Day' program.
An individual donation of $100 will allow SAGE to provide each and every 'Meals on Wheels' client with a healthy salad for a day. Donors will be shared publicly with SAGE clients and the SAGE community.
"These people are not able to shop for themselves anymore," said Meals on Wheels Director, Marianne Kranz. "To see the look on their faces when they are given something so fresh is priceless."

SAGE's 'Meals on Wheels' delivers meals to older, homebound adults, ensuring they do not go hungry and that they receive much-needed human contact by caring volunteers. Last year 'Meals on Wheels' served 47,000 meals to more than 230 clients in our community. To learn more about 'Meals on Wheels' and 'Giving Salad Day', contact email@example.com or call 908-273-5554.
