SAGE Eldercare Invites Public to Holiday Open House

SAGE Eldercare, a major community resource for the elderly and their families, is hosting a Holiday Open House on Tuesday, December 14, from noon to 2:00 PM.  The public is welcome to attend the gathering which will include an opportunity to tour the facility, meet the staff and see the eldercare agency’s programs in action. Refreshments and holiday festivities will also be offered.
Visitors will have an opportunity to learn more about the non-profit eldercare organization that has been based in Summit for 56 years.  In 2005 SAGE moved from its long-time home located in a house at DeForest Ave. to 290 Broad Street to accommodate their growing programs and services.  The new building houses all of SAGE’s twelve programs and services under one roof – with the exception of The Resale Shop which is located nearby in Summit at 31B Chatham Road. While touring the facility, Open House visitors will also be able to stop in to SAGE’s Spend-A-Day Adult Day Health Center which is the oldest adult day care center in New Jersey.
The other programs offered by SAGE include HomeCare; Meals on Wheels; InfoCare, a free information and referral service; Eldercare Planning and Guidance; Fall Prevention; Grocery Shopping and Errand Service; Bill Paying Service; P.R.E.P. (People Responsible For Elderly Persons) Caregivers Support Group; SHIP/Medicare and Health Insurance Assistance Program; and the SAGE Furniture Restoration Workshop which operates in the basement of the building.
Everyone is welcome to attend the Open House at 290 Broad Street, Summit. Walk-ins are encouraged and pre-registration is not necessary.   If you’d like more information, please call 908-598-5529, email or go to SAGE Eldercare’s website at
