SUMMIT, NJ – Ninety-two years young, Thelma Wasserman can finally use her cell phone properly thanks in large part to a new program offered through SAGE Eldercare, Teen Smartphone Support.

The free program, teams a tech-savvy teenager with an older adult in the adult’s home to answer all their cell phone questions. Sessions include learning to FaceTime, use Facebook, text, check the weather, e-mail, take photos and more.

Wasserman’s son gave her a cell phone one year ago, but she didn’t know how to use it. “I had no knowledge, just aggravation,” she said. Since getting help, she can now see photos of her four grandchildren, make calls and recently she had her first FaceTime call with her son in Kentucky.
