SUMMIT, NJ - Psychiatrist Harish Malhotra, MD, of Summit -- former Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at Overlook Medical Center -- will release his second book, entitled Pathways to Hope: Innovative Insights for Therapists and Patients (Hamilton Books, 2014), on November 29.
Pathways to Hope offers a more clinical approach to connecting with patients during psychotherapy, by featuring metaphors Malhotra uses to help his patients in therapy and to teach medical students open-ended interview techniques.
The metaphors in this book serve as an extension to the ones in Malhotra’s first book, Metaphors of Healing: Playful Language in Psychotherapy and Everyday Life (Hamilton Books, 2014). Both of Malhotra’s books feature a conversational style of writing, and seek to provide common sense logic in order to reach a positive solution. Both books are available on Amazon.com.
Malhotra is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, and a clinical associate professor of psychiatry at Rutgers Medical School in Newark. He has received Remarkable Achievement Awards by the New Jersey Psychiatric Association, and has been practicing psychiatry since 1977.
