Second Installment of Summit Design Night Series Set for June 1


SUMMIT, NJ - Local design businesses will be highlighted as downtown Summit hosts the second night of a three-part Design Series June 1. The third and final Design Night will fall on September 28.

On the first day of June, four businesses will be hosting special events including:

Laura Clare Floral Design & Event Decor will be holding a Mini Floral Arrangement Class from 7 - 7:45 p.m. that will tutor attendees on how they can turn their garden blossoms into the type of designer arrangements that get pinned on Pinterest. The class, discounted for Design Night, is priced at $45 per person. Paper Source will be hosting a Creative Hand Lettering Class from 6 - 8 p.m., showing ways to take invitations, holiday cards, letter writing, and thank you cards to the next level with crafty lettering ideas. Class cost is $28 per person, plus the cost of the pen. All participants will receive 10% off all purchases for the night. To register, call 908-219-4406.

Home Again Design is holding a free refinishing class at 7 p.m., which will detail how to transform old, out-dated pieces into sleek, modern 'masterpieces'. The event is hosted by Kristen Bouterse from Ricciardi Brothers, who can be reached at 908-464-8800.

West Elm’s In-Home Stylist Team is partnering with Ricciardi Brothers to host a night of free design advice, featuring the Fine Paints of Europe brand, from 6 - 8 p.m.

May 29, 2018

5/15 - Sean M. Reidy, 52, of Summit was arrested on a contempt of court warrant out of Summit. Mr. Reidy was able to post bail and released with a pending court date.

5/18 - At 1615 hours a report was taken for a theft from a Springfield Avenue business. The incident occurred at approximately 1031 hours when a white female entered the business and removed a blue Ramy Brook Blouse from a rack.
