SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit Police Department (SPD) and the American Red Cross are again teaming up to host a second joint presentation on how to be "Red Cross Ready" at the Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School Auditorium on September 25 at 7 p.m.

With recent events like Superstorm Sandy in mind, families and local communities can learn how to be better prepared for the next emergency.  Residents will get vital information on how to make a disaster preparedness kit, a family emergency plan, obtain first aid training, and also find out how you can help your community be prepared.

In order to ensure adequate space is available, anyone planning to attend the presentation should contact the SPD by one of the following methods: e-mail; by calling Summit Police Lt. Cantone at 908-277-9403; or by calling Fire Department Deputy Chief Evers at 908-277-9353.
