Senior Class Students Lauded at Summit H.S. 'Awards of Excellence'

SUMMIT, NJ - Seventeen Summit High School senior scholars, each of whom has demonstrated "superior performance and contributed to the school through their various talents," were honored at the 'Awards of Excellence."

Superintendent of Schools June Chang said of the students, individually and collectively, "I am confident they will navigate a global workforce, establish relationships, and give back to their community and organizations, as people of good character. Their Summit pride and Hilltopper spirit is woven into the people they have become."

The musical entertainment prior to dinner was provided by the Hilltop String Quintet, featuring Julia Baldacchino, Nicole Lee, Emily Pommier, Mimi Laws, and Marcus Stevenson, under the direction of Barbara Vierschilling.

During the awards presentation, Williams performed a medley of three original songs he wrote, “Tears for an Angel, Recess, and Good Kids.” To conclude the evening, Marcus Stevenson performed “Viola Sonata/Impetuoso.”

Visual artwork by award winner Megan Abate was on exhibit in the banquet room as well.
