BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ —Home for Good Dog Rescue will host its annual Spring Yard Sale this Friday and Saturday at its offices, 465 Springfield Ave. in Berkeley Heights. Donations of gently used clothing, toys, household items, furniture, costume jewelry, and other similar items may be dropped off from April 13 onward.

The event, which will remain open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 15 and April 16, will ultimately help raise funds for the construction of the Almost Home Wellness Center, a specialized facility in Aiken, S.C. that will provide life-saving medical care and recuperation time for rescue dogs in need.

“All of our dogs come from high-kill shelters throughout Georgia and South Carolina,” Home for Good’s Donation Manager Abbe Fried said. “By supporting us in this annual fundraiser, the community is making a real difference in these animals lives.”

Since its inception in 2010, Home for Good Dog Recue has placed more than 4,000 dogs in permanent families of their own. As a uniquely foster-based rescue, the organization shelters all these animals in local homes until adoption.

“Our volunteers and fosters have been instrumental in making this event a success each year,” Fried said. “And what could be better than doing a little spring cleaning and supporting a great cause?”
