'Sip and Sample' Adult Art Camp Offered at Summit Art Center Beginning July 12

SUMMIT, NJ - BYOB, media included.

Adults are encouraged to pack up their favorite libation and artistic curiosity as The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey hosts “Sip and Sample,” a summer art camp held in Wednesday evenings, from 7 - 9:30 p.m., from July 12 to August 16.

Each week the campers will sample a different art medium, led by a professional working artist. The media included are: ceramics on the potter’s wheel, collage and mixed media, painting with acrylics on canvas, zentangle, indigo dying, and printmaking.

“It’s so rare that adults have the opportunity to try new things,” says Cynthia McChesney, Director of Development and Marketing. “This sampler gives adults the chance to experiment and explore in a warm and supportive environment.”

Camp tuition is $300, which also covers materials and snacks, with campers bringing their own beverages. This camp is open to adults ages 21 and up. To register, call 908-273-9121, visit artcenternj.org, or stop by the Art Center in person 68 Elm Street.

5/15 - Sean M. Reidy, 52, of Summit was arrested on a contempt of court warrant out of Summit. Mr. Reidy was able to post bail and released with a pending court date.

5/18 - At 1615 hours a report was taken for a theft from a Springfield Avenue business. The incident occurred at approximately 1031 hours when a white female entered the business and removed a blue Ramy Brook Blouse from a rack.
