SUMMIT, NJ - Six dynamic Summit women will be front and center when Reeves-Reed Arboretum (RRA) hosts its annual fundraiser -- Art in the Garden -- on June 8, from 6 - 11 p.m. Muggins Badgley, Millie Cooper, Betse Gump, Gail Malin, Susan Watts, and Betsy Wesson have been selected as the 2019 honorees.
“I don’t believe there are many in this community unfamiliar with or who haven’t been touched by these passionate ladies," said Frank Juliano, Executive Director of the Arboretum. "They have selflessly served or continue to support such organizations as the Junior League of Summit, the Visual Arts Center, Overlook Hospital, and of course, Reeves-Reed Arboretum. In fact, without their initial support and vision, and now their continued stewardship, there would probably have never been an Arboretum in Summit.”
According to RRA, ART in the Garden -- which will feature specialty cocktails catering by David Ellis Events, a live and silent auction and music from Lenox Underground -- raises funds "that allow the Arboretum to continue to serve a broad and ever-changing community by providing environmental and horticultural education programs to children and adults of all abilities, and by maintaining its historic house and gardens as a cultural destination and resource for more than100,000 visitors annually."
To purchase tickets, which begin at $250 per person, visit rragala19.givesmart.com, or call 908-273-8787, ext. 1010. Online bidding for the silent auction begins June 3.
Reeves-Reed Arboretum is locted at 165 Hobart Avenue.
