SUMMIT, NJ -  Junior Caroline Griffith brought home points in every rotation, finishing second in the All-Around, as the Summit High School Gymnastics Team beat Dayton 102.225 - 95.475 at The Connection.

The win was the team's second in a row, following a 100.775 - 98.75 victory over Union Catholic.

Against the Bulldogs, Griffith placed fourth in Vault, third on Bars and Beam, and second in Floor Exercise. Dayton's Alyssa Schramm finished first in All-Around, and also claimed top spot in Bars and Floor Exercise.

Summit's Sophia Confalonieri won the Beam competition with an 8.75 and placed second on Bars. Margaret Griffith placed first in Vault with an 8.75 and grabbed fourth on Floor Exercise, while Emma Claus took third on Vault and Floor Exercise).

In their narrow win over the Vikings, Caroline Griffith placed second in All-Around, winning both the Vault and Beam rotations and taking third on Bars. Confalonieri was top of podium on Floor Exercise, Margaret Griffith earned second-spot on Vault and third on Beam, with Claus second on Bars and third on Vault.

The Hilltoppers, now 2-3 in dual meet competition this season, next host AL Johnson and Randolph October 11 at The Connection. The three-team meet begins at 7 p.m.

Field Hockey Wins

A trio of captains led the Summit High School Varsity Field Hockey team to victory, with Charlotte Greer scoring twice, Megan Abate adding a goal, and goalie Maddie Gaeta notching 10 saves in the Maroon and White's 3-0 win over Mount Saint Dominic at the Upper Turf Field.

Ciara Lawlor assisted on both of Greer's goals as the Hilltoppers built a 2-0 first-half lead.

Summit will next travel to Chatham October 5 to face the Cougars. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
