Residents and Healthcare Workers at New Providence, N.J., Skilled Nursing Facility Receive Pfizer Vaccine
NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ – In partnership with Walgreens, Spring Grove Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in New Providence this week held its first COVID-19 vaccine clinic for residents and healthcare team members. Pharmacists administered the initial dose of the Pfizer vaccine; a required second dose will follow within 21 to 28 days. Pictured receiving his vaccination is Spring Grove’s Eli Rosenblum, administrator.
Under CDC recommendations, Phase 1A of the COVID-19 vaccine distribution includes healthcare personnel and residents of long-term care facilities. In late December, Walgreens began providing COVID-19 vaccinations in approximately 800 long-term care facilities across New Jersey and 11 additional states with immediate nationwide expansion planned. Vaccines at the Spring Grove clinic were administered on a voluntary basis, free of charge.
Located at 144 Gales Drive, Spring Grove provides post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care. The facility is participating in the #GetVaccinated campaign of the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living, the nation’s largest association of long term and post-acute care providers.
