SUMMIT, NJ - Like a lightning-quick boxer whose trainer is shouting "stick and move, champ," Summit's Other Fellow First Foundation is leading with a one-two punch in the efforts to rally the community in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.
As part of their ongoing efforts to 'Keep UNITY in the Summit CommUNITY', the little Foundation has -- after just two weeks -- raised more than $52,000 in local assistance for three groups in Summit serving the most vulnerable members of our community:
- SAGE Eldercare
- Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad
- Emergency Food groups St Teresa Loaves and Fishes, GRACE and Summit Helping Its People (SHIP)
In fact, the Other Fellow First Foundation has just raised its GoFundMe goal to $75,000 and is hoping those members of the community -- who have not yet participated -- will consider joining the effort.
Additionally, to help stimulate the Summit restaurant takeout business, the Foundation has designed an easily-removable bumper sticker promoting a message of community unity, which is available at many of the community's favorite restaurants. It is the Foundation's hope that the bumper sticker will encourage residents to remember and support the vital restaurants in Summit.
Customers simply need to ask for one when picking up their takeout.
