Summit Area YMCA Celebrates National Volunteer Week Apr. 24-28


SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit YMCA is a volunteer-driven and volunteer led non-profit organization and, during National Volunteer Week Apr. 24-28, it will honor and thank those who are integral to helping The Y achieve its mission. 

To show its gratitude, volunteers will be recognized during National Volunteer Weeks through the following

Monday, April 24

Sign Up for E-News

A “We love our Volunteers!” Banner will be displayed as well as a 'Wall of Fame' recognizing The Y's brightest stars. Balloons will represent how the organization expands and grows while learning from others.

Tuesday, April 25

A special poem will be dedicated to all the volunteers. All those who sign-up for volunteer opportunities at The Y will receive a free YMCA T-shirt.

Wednesday, April 26

A 'Volunteer Happy Hour' will be held, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Piattino - A Neighborhood Bistro (located at 67 Union Place) and volunteers will receive their specially-designed T-shirts.

Thursday, April 27

As each Y volunteer is 'worth a mint', the community is invited to stop by and guess how many mints are in the jar and win a prize. Volunteer certificates will be also awarded to our dedicated volunteers.

Friday, April 28

Volunteer magnets will be available at all Summit YMCA branches. Community members are encouraged to leave a personalized note to your favorite Y volunteer with each thank you note will be mailed directly to them.
