SUMMIT, NJ - The City of Summit Fire Department (SFD) is inviting the community to an open house on September 17, the centerpiece of which will be a the dedication -- and ceremonial 'wet down' -- of the newest addition to the SFD fleet, Ladder Truck No. 1. The event, which will be held from 1 - 4 p.m., also includes a barbecue and activities for the whole family, including:

- Children's Hose Target

- Fire Safety Trailer

The open house will be held, rain or shine, at the Summit Fire Department headquarters located at 396 Broad Street.

Tax Reform a Positive for Summit

The recently enacted Tax Reform, the  biggest since 1986, will have a positive effect on Summit’s economy. Tax cuts stimulate economic activity as taxpayers have more to spend, and at this point there is no corresponding cut in government expenditures.
