SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit Fire Department responded to a call reporting an outdoor fire at a Broad Street residence early Tuesday morning.
Arriving just after the call at 4:21 a.m., the Summit Fire Department found a well-involved detached garage fire. The fire was contained to the building of origin but the garage sustained significant damage.

The blaze was quickly knocked down and was declared under control at 4:39 a.m.

The Summit F.D. was joined at the scene by the Summit Police Department and Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad, while the Millburn F.D. assisted at the scene. The Berkeley Heights, Fanwood and Mountainside Fire Departments provided station coverage to Summit fire headquarters.

No injuries to residents or first responders were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Summit F.D. investigation unit.
