Summit Farmers Market Begins May 11

SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit Farmers Market will begin May 11 in Park & Shop Lot 2, located on the corner of Maple Street and Deforest Avenue.  The Market will be open, rain or shine, every Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., through November 23.

“The mission of the Summit Farmers Market is to promote local farms, food crafters, the arts and a sense of community,” explains Summit Downtown Inc. Executive Director Marin Mixon.  “The Summit Farmers Market continues to be a popular Sunday morning destination where visitors purchase fresh, local and regional goods, including a variety of organic produce, plants and flowers, and specialty items.  It is a fun way to spend a Sunday morning and an opportunity to support local area farmers and vendors of fresh foods.”

This season, the Summit Farmers Market will welcome four new vendors and include seven local farmers, more than 20 specialty food purveyors, and a handful of local artisans.  Summit Downtown Inc. will be staffing an information booth for market visitors to stop by and find out what is new or where they can find market vendors.

Still, sometimes they found things out.  Like the time my friends plopped me on our front door step at one o'clock in the morning ...
