SuTThe Summit Hilltoppers field hockey team walked away on Thursday with their first win in the State play-offs finishing (2-0) against number 9 seed Holmdel.  Junior Katie Birle scored the first goal of the game off an assist from Junior Caroline Cordrey.  The second half goal placed by Cordrey off an assist from senior captain Faith Tully sealed the game in the last ten minutes of the game.

Once again Summit's commanding midfield and defense kept the ball in the offensive zone.  Seniors Katie Stuke, Erica Ferriso, Keri Enriquez and Hannah Pollinger created a solid wall limiting the number of opportunities for the Holmdel team.  All shots on goal where efficiently handled by Junior goalie Grace Berkery who posted yet another shut out game.

Summit faces off against number 1 divisional seed Voorhees on Tuesday, November 2 at 2 pm at Voorhees.
