SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit High School Girls and Boys Varsity Lacrosse Teams have both earned number-one sectional seeds, as the NJSIAA State Playoffs are set to get underway.
The Summit Girls Varsity finished their regular season 14-4, and opens play May 14 against Lenape Valley at the Upper High School Turf Field. Recent winners of the Union County Championship where they beat Oak Knoll 10-8, the girls will look to go one step farther than they did in 2014, losing the Tournament of Champions final to Moorestown. The game versus Lenape Valley starts at 4 p.m.
The Summit Boys have one game remaining in their regular season, a tough match-up at Ridgewood May 14. Currently 12-4 on the season, the Hilltoppers are fresh off a 4-3, Triple OT loss to Westfield. In the first round of the state playoffs, Head Coach Jim Davidson will see his side face Paramus May 16 at Investors Bank Field. Face-off is set for 11 a.m.
