SUMMIT, NJ - Two games into the NJSIAA North, Group 2 Boys Lacrosse Tournament, the top-seeded Summit High School Boys Varsity has played a grand total of 96 minutes and outscored their first- and second-round opponents by the tidy sum of 31-0.

The latest whitewash win was a 14-0 victory over eighth-seeded Voorhees on a rainy day at Investors Bank Field that definitely put the 'wash' in whitewash, as rain soaked the Hilltop City all game-long,

Six Hilltoppers had three or more points on the day, with seniors Tom Fischetti and Eamon McTernan, along junior Skyler Schluter each scoring a Hat Trick. Three Summit goalies -- senior captain Will Vitton, classmate Julian Rupkey and junior Tyler Hadley -- each had a save.

The Maroon and White led 4-0 after one, 8-0 at the break and 12-zip at the end of the third quarter. Senior Nick Thomson had two goals and two assists, classmate and captain Harry Kilkowski had four assists, and junior Gray Humphrey had three helpers. Perhaps crystallizing the commitment Summit is bringing to the table right now was seeing the Hilltopper defensive unit of Wils Hurley, Dan O'Connell, Ryan Reigle, Kevin Beatty, Harry Grange playing tough, fourth-quarter 'D' in a rainstorm -- with a double-digit lead -- just to help preserve the shutout.

Summit, 15-2 on the season, now advances to round three on May 23 to take on fourth-seeded Sparta. Face-off is tentatively set for 4:30 p.m.
