SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ - Led by strong performances from senior captains Joe Lusardi, Eric Baier and Will Hellings -- who combined for 38 points and 22 rebounds -- the Summit High School Boys Varsity Basketball Team won at Scotch Plains-Fanwood, 58-43. The victory is the Hilltoppers sixth in a row and improves their record to 9-2 on the season.

Baier (17 points and 8 rebounds) led all scorers, followed by Lusardi's 14 points and 4 'boards day. Hellings added seven points and snared a team-high 10 rebounds. Fellow senior Charles Lord splashed three triples to notch nine points.

Summit led 28-19 at the half and 'won' all four quarters. Justin Fletcher and Matt Drubukis paced the Raiders with nine points each.

Next up for the Maroon and White is a shot at a bit of redemption, Summit Derby-style, when they take on Oratory Prep January 21 at the Main Gym. The Rams were the last team to defeat Summit when they charged from behind to inflict a last-second loss on The 'Top January 3. Tip-off for the rematch is set for 7 p.m.
