SUMMIT, NJ - Catherine Maloney notched a 13-point, 14-rebound double-double but it was not enough to lift the Summit High School Girls Basketball Team to victory, as the Hilltoppers fell at Roselle Catholic, 47-36.

Junior captain Christina Richson had 16 points to pace The Maroon & White, but only four Summit players scored in a game saw the Hilltoppers 'lose' every quarter but never were out of the contest.

Tyara McQueen scored a game-high 18 points for the Lions.

Summit scored just four points in the first quarter but trailed only by three, then both teams hit the gas pedal points-wise in a second stanza that saw 38 total points put on the board. The Hilltoppers trailed at the half 27-22.

The second half reverted back to a more defensive tilt, with Roselle Catholic needing two quarters to score as many points -- 20 -- as they did in the second quarter alone. Unfortunately for Summit, now 5-11 on the season, they could only must 14 total points in the final 16 minutes.

Captain Anna DiSibio (7) and Eliza Rustum (6) combined for 13 boards, contributing -- along with Maloney's big night on the glass -- to 40-27 Hilltopper edge in rebounds on the night.

Summit returns home to face Plainfield at the Main Gym February 2. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
