SUMMIT, NJ - Summit High School Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team midfielder Andrew Chase and junior attack Corey McManus have been named 2016 US Lacrosse All-Americans.
Senior captain Chase, who is headed to Lafayette College and will play for the the Leopards, scored 36 goals and added 19 assists to total 55 points. He scored four goals in a game twice for the Hilltoppers during the 2016 season, a campaign in which he also won 28 ground balls.
McManus scored 45 goals, giving him 96 in his Hilltopper career to date, and added 12 assists for 57 points. He also won 23 ground balls. McManus had two five-goal games, and a six-goal game May 21 against West Essex. He scored the game winner in triple-overtime in the season opener March 30, as Summit beat Delbarton 7-6.
Summit went 18-2 on the season, capturing the Fitch-Pitt Division Title. The two games the Maroon & White lost were each by a single goal, both in double-overtime.
