SUMMIT, NJ - Seniors Kady Glynn and Andrew Helmer, stellar performers who both played key roles in the Summit High School Girls and Boys Varsity Lacrosse Teams' trophy-winning 2015 seasons, have been named to the inaugural American Family Insurance All-USA Lacrosse Teams.
The teams, as noted in USA Today, were selected by 3d Rising, a network of local partners charged with finding, watching, and evaluating top and emerging lacrosse talent throughout the United States and Canada.
Glynn, who was also named the Girls Varsity Team's Most Valuable Player, will attend Loyola University Maryland and play goal for the Greyhounds. A rock for Summit her entire career, in 2015 she delivered 195 saves and amassed 623 stops during her time as a Hilltopper. She was named a US Lacrosse All American, and also earned All Conference honors.
Summit went 20-5, won the Union County, Group, and Sectional Titles, and gained the Tournament of Champions Final for the second consecutive season.
Helmer, who will attend Syracuse University and take the field for the Orange, won 62 ground balls this season giving him 198 for his Summit career. The agile, mobile defender was not only a force defensively, but a transitional weapon when the Hilltoppers executed their defensive zone clear. He was named a US Lacrosse All American, and also earned First Team, All State and All Division honors.
The Boys Varsity finished the season 20-5, making a run that included Group and Sectional crowns, and culminated in a Tournament of Champions semifinal appearance.
