SUMMIT, NJ - The most recent COVID-19 case in the Summit Public Schools is an "individual" at Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School (LCJSMS).

The confirmation of the case positive came via a March 1 letter to the "Summit Public Schools Community" from Superintendent of Schools Scott Hough and LCJSMS Principal Dr. Donna Gallo. The letter, subsequently obtained by TAPinto Summit from a third party, stated, "The District has been notified that an individual from Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School has tested positive for COVID-19. Our Nursing Department, in collaboration with the Department of Health, conducted contact tracing and did not identify any potential close contacts at the school. Health officials did not recommend closing the school."
