Every year millions of Americans miss the opportunity to vote because they are unsure how to register, miss the registration deadline, or don’t update their registration. Community members who have moved, had a name change, or have never been registered are urged register on September 25. It is important to note that 17-year-olds can register to vote as long as they will have turned 18 by Election Day which, in 2018, is November 6.
'National Voter Registration Day' is celebrates America's democracy. Founded in 2012, the day is designed to create an annual moment when the entire nation focuses on registering citizens to exercise their most basic right – the right to vote. More than two million Americans have registered to vote on this day since the inaugural 'National Voter Registration Day'.
