2/9 - At 0845 hours a report was taken for a theft from a motor vehicle. The vehicle, which had been parked between 1630 hours on 2/8 and 0740 hours on 2/9 in a driveway on Oakland Place, had been left unlocked overnight. Taken from the vehicle were a Garmin GPS, a Chipotle gift card, a King’s Supermarket gift card, and a Stop and Shop gift card. Total value of the stolen items was approximately $569.00.

2/9 - At 1512 hours a report was taken for a theft from a motor vehicle. The vehicle, which had been parked between 1700 hours on 2/8 and 1000 hours on 2/9 in a driveway on Linden Place, had been left unlocked overnight. Taken from the car were approximately $4.00-$5.00 in the form of single dollar bills, 1 black Chapstick and 1 bag of Wishbone Dog Treats. Total value of the items stolen was approximately $12.00.

2/12 - At 1717 hours, a report was taken for a theft from a motor vehicle. The vehicle, a 2007 Honda Pilot, had been parked in a lot on Morris Avenue. The vehicle had been left unlocked and the steering wheel airbag had been removed from the car between 0900 hours and 1700 hours on this date. Approximate value of the airbag is $1000.00.

2/17 - Mary E. Pierce, 49, of Jersey City was arrested and charged with driving while suspended. Ms. Pierce was released with a pending court date.

2/18 - At 0632 hours a report was taken for a theft from a motor vehicle. The vehicle, which was parked in a driveway on Waldron Avenue between 1900 hours on 2/17 and 0515 hours on 2/18, had been entered and approximately $5.00 in cash was taken from the center console. The vehicle had been left unsecured.

2/18 - At 1140 hours a report was taken for an individual(s) entering two parked, unlocked motor vehicles in a Canoe Brook Parkway driveway. The vehicles were entered between 1900 hours on 2/17 and 1140 hours on 2/18. The owner discovered the glove boxes and center consoles had been rummaged through, but no items had been taken.

2/19 - Christopher J. Deschenes, 29, of Summit was arrested and charged with use of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Deschenes was released with a pending court date.



2/19 - At 0755 hours a report was taken for a theft from an office located on Overlook Road. Approximately $120.00 in cash was removed from an envelope in an unsecured drawer between 1400 hours on 2/17 and 0752 hours on 2/19.

2/19 - At 2130 hours a report was taken for a possible strong armed robbery. The victim had been walking on Broad Street near Overlook Road when a vehicle pulled alongside him. A suspect jumped out, demanding he provide him with cash. The suspect removed $200.00 cash from the victim’s pocket and re-entered the vehicle which left heading east on Broad Street. The suspect was described as a black male, approximately six feet tall, wearing a black or dark blue bandana, green or olive colored “puffy” jacket.

2/21 - At 1236 hours a report was taken for a theft of a cell phone from a business on Springfield Avenue. The victim reports their cell phone was last seen on 2/20 while the victim was completing a shift at their place of employment. The cell phone, an iPhone 5C, color blue, was valued at approximately $400.00.
