12/24 - Nelson Collazo-Moreno, 25, of Summit was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Mr. Moreno was released with a pending court date.

01/01 - At 1323 hours a report was taken for a theft from a Springfield Avenue apartment complex. The maroon colored “Exit” sign had been removed sometime between 1800 hours on 12/31/16 and 1300 hours on 01/01/17. The approximate value of the sign was $800.00.

01/04 - Byinnah S. Jones, 35, of Vauxhall was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Ms. Jones was released with a pending court date.

01/04 - At 2044 hours a report was taken for an armed robbery from a Morris Avenue business. Two suspects entered the business and removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. There were no injuries involved during the incident. Suspects were described as follows: Suspect 1: Black male, approximately 6’00” tall, muscular build, wearing a dark mask, gloves and a dark colored vest over a gray hooded sweatshirt. Suspect 2: Black male, approximately 6’00” tall, muscular build, wearing a dark mask, gloves and a dark colored winter vest over a dark hooded sweatshirt. Any information relating to the incident, please contact the Summit Police Department Detective Bureau at 908-273-0051.

01/05 - Dean S. Geibel, 58, of Summit was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and a failure to appear warrant. Mr. Geibel posted bail and was released with a pending court date.

01/08 - Joseph R. Calcaterra, 45, of Madison was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Mr. Calcaterra was released with a pending court date.
