09/09 - At 1205 hours a report was taken for a lost/stolen cell phone. The victim reported the incident occurred between 1530 and 1700 hours on 09/08 in the Central Business District area of Summit. The cell phone was described as an Apple iPhone 6 in a purple case. The cell phone was valued at approximately $800.00.

09/13 - At 1023 hours a report was taken for a theft of a plastic lawn sign from a Druid Hill Road residence. The victim reported the incident occurred between 1630 hours on 09/12 and 0945 hours 09/13. Taken from the front yard of the residence was a 2’ x 3’ plastic sign with the words “Jet Floors” on it. The victim reported the sign is worth approximately $200.00.

09/14 - At 1653 hours a report was taken for a theft by an unauthorized use of a company credit card for a business on Springfield Avenue. The victim reported an employee had been provided with a company credit card to purchase a few items at a local business and in turn also purchased a gift card. The total value of the unauthorized charges was $250.95.

09/19 - At 1034 hours a report was taken for a theft from an unlocked motor vehicle, parked in a driveway of a Dale Drive residence. The victim reported the incident occurred between 2100 hours on 09/18 and 1034 hours on 09/19. Removed from the unsecured vehicle were a black leather Coach briefcase and a black leather Coach wallet. Total value of the stolen items was approximately $800.00.

09/21 - Sergio A. Lourenco, 21, of Newark was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. Mr. Lourenco was released with a pending court date.

09/21 - At 1505 hours a report was taken for a theft of a bicycle from an Edgar Street residence. The victim reports the incident occurred between 09/14 and 09/16. The bicycle was described as a men’s maroon/red Trek mountain bike, valued at approximately $600.00.

09/22 - At 2228 hours a report was taken for a theft of a wallet from a school on Beverly Road. The victim reports the incident occurred between 2000 hours and 2228 hours. Taken was a red Goyard card holder wallet valued at approximately $500.00. It contained approximately $40.00 in cash and a debit card.

09/23 - At 1528 hours a report was taken for a theft from a church on Waldron Avenue. The victim reports the incident occurred between 1630 hours on 09/22 and 1400 hours on 09/23. Taken from the offices were one (1) MacBook Air 13 inch laptop, one (1) Dell Studio 15 laptop and one (1) Canon Vixia HF R700. Total value of the stolen items was approximately $2,757.00.

09/24 - At 2359 hours a report as taken for a theft from a parked, unlocked motor vehicle. The incident occurred between 1530 hours and 2330 hours when the victim left the vehicle in a garage on Beauvoir Avenue. Removed from the vehicle was one (1) hospital employee ID. Total value of the stolen item was approximately $5.00.

02/01/2018, 7:26 am - FD dispatched to Route 78 East Bound mile marker 47.2 for a reported motor vehicle accident with entrapment and injuries. On arrival both the Springfield and Summit Fire Departments set up for extrication. The vehicle was chocked to stabilize the vehicle. EMS performed patient care. A hose line was stretched for possible fire suppression by the Berkeley Heights FD.
