"It is very important to generate a good attitude, a good heart, as much as possible." The Dalai Lama
In this course entitled "Living Metta," part of our Living the Mindful Life series, we will explore another key aspect of living the mindful life, the teaching on metta.
Often translated as loving kindness or simply kindness, it is the cultivation of metta that adds the emotional or heartfelt quality to this path, leading to a richly rewarding life.....for the benefit of all.

(Jon Kabat Zinn has commented that mindfulness could just as well be described as heartfulness)
We will meet for four Saturdays in January beginning Jan 9. As usual, the course will be a combination of study, discussion, home exercises and, most of all, the practice of metta.....(or 'generating a good heart', as the DL states above.)
What is unique to this course is that our second meeting, on Jan 16, will be an all day workshop at the New York Insight center in New York City, entitled Classical Teachings of Loving Kindness led by an excellent teacher, Andy Olendzki.
The workshop will serve as inspiration for our final two meetings on Jan 23 & 30.
The three sessions at Summit Psychological Services (SPS) will meet at the usual times of 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Class size will be limited to eight (8) persons. The cost is $250, plus $70 for the workshop in New York City.
There's a two-step process for this one. Register with SPS in the usual way by calling 908-273-5558, and also register online with NY Insight at nyimc.org.
