SUMMIT, NJ - A roads micro-surfacing project, which will see work performed on myriad thoroughfares throughout the Hilltop City, will commence August 19 and conclude August 23, weather permitting.

Micro-surfacing is a cost efficient surface treatment to renew a road surface and extend the life of the pavement. During the process, a layer of asphalt emulsion is blended with finely crushed stone for traction to protect the pavement from moisture penetration and oxidation.

During the project, access to driveways will be prohibited until the application is dry. Residents should park on neighboring side streets prior to 7 a.m.

The project schedule is as follows (all streets will be fully re-surfaced unless otherwise noted):

- August 19: Kings Hill Court, Ramsey Drive, Little Wolf Road, Club Drive, Hickory Road

- August 22: Drum Hill Drive, Oak Ridge Avenue (Magnolia to Rotary)

- August 23: Briant Parkway, New England Avenue, Beverly Road

Emergency vehicles will have access to roads in critical situations. Residents with questions are instructed to contact the Department of Community Services at 908-273-6404.

If it is necessary to leave vehicles on the street overnight, contact the Summit Police Department at 908-273-0051 to avoid being ticketed.
