SUMMIT, NJ - Mortgage investment company Toorak Capital Partners has, through its employee summer event 'Movie Under the Stars', lent its support to SAGE Eldercare's 'Meals on Wheels' program. The Summit-based company recently donated more than 55 hot meals and much needed shelf stable food to SAGE.
Last year along, SAGE’s 'Meals on Wheels' delivered over 44,000 meals to more than 200 clients. Volunteers deliver meals and a watchful eye to older adults throughout Summit and the surrounding area. Of those, half live alone and 65% rarely see anyone other than their volunteer. The current pandemic has made this vulnerable population to be even more isolated, making the role of Meals on Wheels that much more important. In fact, since the onset of the pandemic, the number of 'Meals on Wheels' recipients served by SAGE has increased nearly 50 percent,
“We are so appreciative that Toorak chose SAGE to team with,” said Amy Stuart, SAGE’s Community Program and Volunteer Coordinator. “SAGE depends on community support, and we thank Toorak for their time and generosity.”
