SUMMIT, NJ - The Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International has awarded Summit Public Schools the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting Award for having met or exceeded the program’s high standards for financial reporting and accountability.

The district was recognized for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ending 2014.

Sponsored by VALIC, the Certificate of Excellence (COE) award confirms the school business office’s commitment to financial accountability and transparency. Recognition through the COE program can help strengthen a district’s presentation for bond issuance statements and promotes a high level of financial reporting.

The District also will be hosting a reception to to welcome Franklin Elementary School's new Principal, Dalia Mirrione, to Summit. The event is scheduled for July 16, from 6:30 - 7 p.m., prior to the Board of Education Meeting at Summit High School.
 
The Board is expected to approve Mirrione at the meeting.
